You Belong @ the Library!
This month, the library invites you to explore LGBTQ+ stories and perspectives in honor of Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in the United States and around the world. From the activism of Marsha P. Johnson, who stood at the forefront of the Stonewall uprising in 1969, to the storytelling of authors like Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera, LGBTQ+ voices continue to inspire change and foster connection. Athletes, artists, scientists, and everyday people in the community remind us that Pride is about living openly and authentically—and creating a world where everyone can do the same.
Our TUSD superintendent once observed that, “The culture and atmosphere of embracing diversity on the North High campus is like no other school in the district.” The library is proud to be part of this community—one where every student is welcome, and every story matters.
IMPORTANT End of Year Library Information
Please make sure you read and understand the policies and procedures for returning this year's books and checking out books for the summer. This information is also available on the library's Schoology page. If you have questions about any of this information or what you see on your library record when you look it up, please come to the textbook window before school, at break, at lunch, or after school, and we'll be happy to help.
TL;DR: All library materials are due by your last day of class, but don't wait until then to start turning them in!
Your Summer Assignment: Read What YOU Like!
As we wrap up this school year, the library is here to help you kick off a summer of stories, adventures, and imagination. Whether you're heading to the beach, driving cross country, or just chilling in the AC, there’s a book for every kind of summer day!
Once your library record is clear, you can check out books to take home over the break—including a bag of books chosen just for you by Ms. Masters! Prefer digital? Explore eBooks and audiobooks anytime on the Sora app or at SoraApp.com.
Thanks for a great year, Saxons—now go make your summer a story worth reading!
Library Closures
As has been the case in the past, the library will be open at lunch for library business only the last week and a half of school (June 2-11). This means that you are welcome to come in to print documents, check out books for the summer, or use the restroom, but there won't be any hanging out at tables or on couches. Unfortunately, we are not able to both supervise the interior of the library and manage the thousands of books being returned to the textbook window--we have to concentration on book returns during those last few busy days of school.
Please also remember that the library isn't open to students during class time. Feel free to drop by before school, at break, at lunch, or after school!
